Pre-Workout Fuel: Berry Smoothie

I always start my workout by getting a little natural sugar boost with some frozen berries. The berries are flash frozen at their nutrient peak and make for a nice slushy smoothie. I prefer mine with almond milk rather than water, and will also mix some micronized creatine powder for strength training edge as well as rolled oats for both texture and some healthy complex carbs.

Here’s my recipe:

  • 1 cup frozen berries

  • 1 1/4 cups dairy substitute beverage (almond, coconut, or oat milk)

  • 1 heaping teaspoon micronized creatine powder

  • 1/8 cup whole grain rolled oats

Blend using your favorite smoothie blending device
